Illustration III homework. We were to make five buttons that went with a theme. Mine is- as the tin says -flying monkeys, a double play on the obvious Wizard of Oz flying monkey meme and from various agencies sending monkeys into space. The monkey I based these off of is the Rhesus Macaque which was often the go-to monkey species of NASA and the Soviet space program. Here we have a Civil War-era ballooner (balloonateer?), a biplane, a WWII fighter, a modern-era fighter jet and, of course, a space shuttle.
It was fun drawing these guys, but I floundered a bit during the initial planning stages at first (obviously things got progressively easier when i figured out what i was doing). Minor changes or additions could be added but I'm happy enough to leave it as is, I think.
